Ther GO Rome Pass is a new sightseeing/tourist pass that was released in 2020 that gives you entry to a handful of Rome’s most popular tourist attractions? But is this pass worth the money? Well, I wanted to find out so keep reading my GO Rome Pass review to see who should (and who shouldn’t) buy this city pass.
Go Rome Pass Overview
First of all, the GO Rome Pass is different than the Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass (you can read my Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass Review to learn more about this pass).
The GO Rome Pass lets you choose either 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 attractions from a list of nearly 30 different attractions.
Unlike other sightseeing passes, the GO Rome Pass mainly offers guided tours and experiences as opposed to strictly museum entry. I’ll go more in-depth about what this pass includes later in this review.
GO Rome Pass Prices and Pass Options
- 2-Choice Pass: €59 (Average of €29.50/attraction)
- 3-Choice Pass: €79 (Average of €26.50/attraction)
- 4-Choice Pass: €105 (Average of €26.25/attraction)
- 5-Choice Pass: €132 (Average of €26.40/attraction)

What’s Included On The GO Rome Pass
The main focus of the GO Rome Pass seems to be guided tours of many of Rome’s popular sights, sightseeing bus tours, walking & bike tours, and a few experiences like cooking classes.
That said, if you simply want entry to Rome’s museums/sights then you should check out the Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass (you can read my Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass Review to learn more about this option).

Is The GO Rome Pass Worth The Money?
To see if the GO Rome Pass is a good value we have to first look at the cost-per-attraction.
- 2-Choice Pass: €59 (Average of €29.50/attraction)
- 3-Choice Pass: €79 (Average of €26.50/attraction)
- 4-Choice Pass: €105 (Average of €26.25/attraction)
- 5-Choice Pass: €132 (Average of €26.40/attraction)
- 6-Choice Pass: €164 (Average of €27.40/attraction)
- 7-Choice Pass: €181 (Average of €25.85/attraction)
Basically, each attraction has to cost more than around €27 for this pass to be worth the money.
Next, we have to look at the pass’s actual offerings because this pass makes no sense if you don’t want to do the things on the pass.
After looking at the GO Rome Pass I think it is best for travelers who like things like guided tours, walking/bike tours, and similar touristy activities.
For example, if you take the Guided Tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Basilica of St. Peter (€57 value) and the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with an audio tour (€38 value) would cost €95 and the two-choice pass is €59 — obviously this saves you about €35. However, if you just want to visit the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Basilica of St. Peter and the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill that would only cost you about €30 total.
Conclusion
The Go Rome Pass can be a good deal if you want to do the Guided Tour of the Vatican since it’s a €57 value. From here, any other attraction you add will make the two-choice pass a good value. That said, there are a few other attraction combos you can build to make this pass worthwhile.
For most travelers, I’m more of a fan of the Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass (see my Rome Card and OMNIA Vatican Pass Review to learn more about this pass).
Where To Buy The Go Rome City Pass?
The Go Rome Pass is a fully digital pass that can be purchased at the Go City Website. You simply download it to your phone and activate it once you want to use it — which is much more convenient than the old physical city passes.
