Barcelona is one of the best party cities in the world. One of the best ways to experience this epic nightlife is by staying in a party hostel—since you’ll be surrounded by other travelers who want to go out and experience Barcelona’s nightlife. So to help you pick the perfect hostel, I’ve created this guide to the best party hostels in Barcelona.
Barcelona is home to a huge number of amazing hostels so if a “party hostel” isn’t your vibe then I suggest checking out my guide to the Best Hostels in Barcelona to see other great hostel options for multiple travel styles.
What We Look For In A Great Barcelona Party Hostel
Barcelona has no shortage of party hostels, and while every hostel has its own vibe, there are a few things we look for in a party hostel:
Hostel Bar
Just about every party hostel will have a bar. Hostel bars will commonly have a happy hour with cheaper drinks than you’d find elsewhere or some might offer a free welcome drink. Either way, a hostel bar is a great way to meet other travelers and it’s typically where people meet up before heading out to the clubs.
Rooftop, Lounge Space, and/or Kitchen
Party hostels also need a common space where people can hang out and mingle—this will typically be a lounge space, kitchen, or even a rooftop.
Organized Bar Crawls, Walking Tours, or Happy Hours
The best party hostels will foster a social atmosphere by organizing social events like walking tours, bar crawls, or even happy hours at the hostel. Some will even plan free/cheap hostel dinners or other events.
Staff Vibe
The staff can often be the key to a great hostel and party hostels tend to have staff who are down to party as much as the guests.
Negative Aspects Of Staying In A Party Hostel
Staying in a party hostel does come with a few potential drawbacks that you should consider before booking:
Noise at Night
Party hostels tend to be loud.
So getting a peaceful night’s sleep can be difficult. While not always the case, the noise from the hostel’s nightlife (i.e. music, people yelling, etc.) can spill into the bedrooms.
People staying in dorm rooms will often be woken up by roommates (often drunk) coming back at all hours of the night.
If you want to help cut down on the noise, I’d consider booking a private room so at least you won’t get woken up by roommates.
If you’re interested in getting a better night’s sleep, check out my article on the Best Hostels in Barcelona for more hostel options that might be a little calmer.
Elevated Prices
Party hostels are highly sought-after because they’re filled with people who stay there to meet other travelers—i.e. you essentially have a built-in social network so meeting people is very easy.
But this demand can also push up the prices.
Harder To Book
Party hostels get booked up faster than most hostels, especially in the summer, so it’s best to book early.
Quality Can Suffer
Party hostels tend to experience more wear and tear so the overall quality can suffer if the staff doesn’t do a good job of maintenance. This isn’t always the case but it’s something to consider.
The Best Party Hostels In Barcelona
Here are our top picks for the best party hostels in Barcelona.
Hostel One Paralelo
Hostel One Paralelo is repeatedly voted as one of the best party hostels in both Barcelona and Europe. It’s a member of the much loved “Hostel One” chain of small hostels and they have multiple other locations in Barcelona—all of which have a fun party atmosphere.
Hostel One Paralelo strikes that balance of being a party hostel without overdoing it—so it’s super social and easy to meet people, but you’re not living in constant chaos. Hostel One Paralelo has an amazing staff that goes out of their way to create a fun atmosphere with free nightly dinners, drinking games, pub crawls, club outings (with skipping the lines), etc.
They also have three common areas that are designed for different moods—one for relaxation, one for work, and one for partying. And they have a fully equipped kitchen with 24/7 access and laundry facilities.
Hostel One Ramblas
Hostel One Ramblas is the next on our list of the best party hostels in Barcelona and it also gets rave reviews in just about every category. Like all Hostel One members, Hostel One Ramblas does multiple things to ensure there is a fun and social atmosphere like free nightly dinners and a free bar/club crawl. I’m also a huge fan of their great rooftop terrace which is a perfect place to chill on a warm summer night.
They also have three common areas that are designed for different moods—one for relaxation, one for work, and one for partying. And they have a fully equipped kitchen with 24/7 access and laundry facilities.
Just like the Hostel One Paralelo, the Hostel One Ramblas strikes that delicate balance of being a party hostel without overdoing it—so it’s super easy to meet other travelers who are up for a great time but you’re not living in constant chaos.
Hostel One Sants
The final Hostel One hostel to make our list of the best party hostels in Barcelona is the Hostel One Sants. I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record but once again these guys offer free nightly dinners, drinking games, free pub/club crawls, and other events to keep the atmosphere super social.
They have a great rooftop terrace and a basement equipped with a pool table, a chill area, and a TV with Netflix and PS3.
The staff is amazing. It’s clean. The beds are comfortable. They have laundry and plenty of common areas.
Hostel One Sants is located slightly outside the “center” of Barcelona but it’s near two subway stops so you’re into the center of town in only a few minutes. And, as an added bonus, it’s only about a 10-minute walk from Barcelona’s main train station.
Sant Jordi Rock Palace Hostel
Sant Jordi Hostel – Rock Palace is another ultra-popular and highly-rated party hostel that’s a member of the excellent Sant Jordi Hostel chain. This rock n’ roll-themed hostel has a roof-top swimming pool, a bar, and a guitar collection… so yeah, it’s all about the party.
They also throw a family dinner every night (typically costs around €5) and they also take groups out to a bar or club every night for free.
The hostel is clean, has a large kitchen, and has laundry facilities. The hostel is located right in the middle of the trendy Eixample neighborhood so you’re in the heart of great nightlife and dining options.
Sant Jordi Sagrada Familia Hostel
Sant Jordi Hostel – Sagrada Familia is another highly rated party hostel in Barcelona that’s part of the Sant Jordi Hostel family. As the name implies, it’s located near the famous Sagrada Familia church and you’re only a quick subway ride into the very center of town.

They also have a large communal kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, and a chill-out room with a skateboard ramp.
Sant Jordi Gracia Hostel
Sant Jordi Hostel – Gracia is the third hostel in the Sant Jordi family and it’s another super popular party hostel in Barcelona. It’s a modern hostel located in the bohemian Gracia neighborhood so you’re surrounded by indie boutiques, galleries, arthouse cinemas, and plenty of nightlife.
Like all Sant Jordi hostels, the Sant Jordi Garcia Hostel organizes all kinds of events to help keep the party going—like frequent family-style dinners, pub crawls, club crawls, and other events.
They have a nice communal kitchen, a comfortable chill-out lounge, a dining room, and an outdoor patio/terrace. They also have laundry facilities available.
Kabul Party Hostel Barcelona
The Kabul Party Hostel Barcelona has “party hostel” in its name so it’s no surprise that it’s one of Barcelona’s top party hostels. In fact, the Kabul Party Hostel is Barcelona’s first hostel and it’s still one of the best thanks to its social atmosphere, parties, and amazing location in the absolute heart of the city.
They have a great rooftop patio that overlooks Plaza Real—which is a great place to kick off a night of clubbing (they take groups to a different famous club every night of the week). They also organize free walking tours and a free breakfast every morning.
